A stark contrast to the jazzy Californian vibe of our last release, Copenhagen-based Cue Line Records head honcho and Surfase family member, Gaze Ill, drops three minimal, cutthroat tunes to form Impulse EP for SURF016.

Pressure cooker Hypnotized tighty builds foundation with a completely stripped down, fresh interpretation of what quality eyes-down chants sounded, and felt, like 10 years ago. What the track title says, really.

Eerie, haunting vocal samples mixed with the most fundamental drum programming, leave room for miles and miles of depth on title track Impulse, continuing to nod respectfully to the roots of this genre. IS-2 rounds off Impulse EP in similar style, building tension to intensify the wonky, twisted affair of the second drop.

As a whole, Impulse EP is mandatory schooling for anyone not familiar with the sensation and chest pressure generated by cleverly built bass music, played in a dark room on a good system.
